Katy Perry crowned America's girl of summer 2010

    Friday 10th September, 2010
    (IANS)

Singer Katy Perry has been crowned the queen of summer 2010 after storming the Billboard pop charts with her 'California Girls'.

The pop star's collaboration with rapper Snoop Dogg performed better than any other tune on the new Billboard songs of the summer survey, which tallies the hits from memorial day in June to labour day, reports contactmusic.com.

It's the second time Perry has topped the summer countdown. Her 'I Kissed a Girl' was the hit song in 2008.

Eminem's 'Love the Way You Lie' duet with Rihanna comes in second on the new summer list and B.o.B's 'Airplanes' places third.

Usher's 'OMG' and 'Dynamite' by Taio Cruz round out the season top five.
